FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Is this a church?

No. Cross-Connection is a parachurch ministry — we flow out of the church, not around it. We don't teach, we don't exercise authority, and we are not a substitute for your congregation. We host events where young adults can meet and build relationships. Sunday is still the peak of your week; we're what spills out of it.

Is this a singles group?

Not only. Married couples come, and are a big part of what we do. But a lot of singles come too, and we think that's good — this is an excellent place to meet a spouse, and we say so plainly. We are for marriage, and for marrying young.

Do I have to be Reformed?

No. Believers from Presbyterian, Baptist, Anglican, and other churches come to our events. We affirm the Apostles' Creed. That is the standard.

Can I come if I'm not a Christian?

Yes, you are welcome. We are unashamedly Christian and we won't hide it — we'll sing, we'll pray, we'll read Scripture — but you are welcome to come and see.

Do I have to sing?

No. But we strongly encourage it. Singing is a big part of who we are, and there's a reason for that: joy is a discipline, and we practice it out loud.

Who runs this?

Gideon and Elizabeth Harris. It is a family ministry, funded personally with the help of a few generous friends.

How old do I need to be?

Eighteen and up.

How much does it cost?

Nothing, for most events. Bigger ones sometimes carry a small fee.

How do I find out about events?

Sign up with your phone number and you'll get text updates with the details.
